God has given us all that we need to take care of our bodies and live very healthy for a very long time. Don’t simply expect a miracle to happen when you aren’t taking care of your body in the first place. If you don’t water a plant and give it the nourishment it needs, it won’t grow and bloom. Same goes with your body. If we don’t take care of it, it won’t be healthy. If we are constantly intoxicating it with the products we use, if we don’t nourish it properly, if we live a sedentary lifestyle, if we don’t get enough rest at night, if we are overly stressed…. our bodies will not function properly and we will experience a multitude of symptoms, which are simply a cry for help. It is easier to keep a rock rolling that it is to start it rolling, as it has been said before. Eating healthy is the second important ingredient to lose weight and get fit and healthy for life. We need to nourish our body with foods that are nutrient-dense so we can actually have energy during the day. Unfortunately, the American diet is becoming more and more high-caloric and lacking in nutrients. People are overeating foods that give them nothing but empty calories. A high-caloric diet that lacks nutrients causes us to be lethargic and sick. If we want more energy and have less sick days, it is very important to focus on eating nutrient-dense foods like organic fruits and veggies, poultry, fish and legumes, as well as grass-fed beef, and throw out all the highly processed foods like white flour and things made with white flour, white sugar, frozen foods, potato chips, corn chips, etc. We don’t have to eat healthy all the time, but we need to focus on eating healthy at least 80% of the time. This will make our bodies leaner and healthier.
We now come to the controversial topic of supplements. Supplements are important to take nowadays because we don’t get enough nutrients from the foods we eat since our land is filled with pesticides that rob it from nutrients. Many people do see the importance of supplements, however, they turn to the least expensive supplement that their body can’t even absorb. Our bodies are designed to get the nutrients from real food, so it’s important to take a supplement that is made with whole foods. When we do this, our bodies can actually absorb the nutrients and give us the nutrition we need.
